Alexander Lofft
Mr. Lofft is a native Washingtonian and has worked in commercial real estate since graduating with an MBA from Georgetown University (’97), focused in finance and business operations.
With a boutique real estate and facilities management firm, Mr. Lofft quickly started working for a select group of mid-sized companies in engineering, telecommunications and financial services as their outsourced real estate department. Managing their growth and change across almost 100 facilities, big and small, all over the country, Mr. Lofft accrued knowledge of a wide variety of property types in a diversity of geographies. From general office to network centers & earth stations, SCIF and electronics labs, cell towers and rooftops, these companies needed not only tactical support on each transaction, but strategic planning to manage their teams and their budgets across their portfolio of facilities.
Leveraging his ability to evaluate other markets, and his perspective in representing tenants, Mr. Lofft started helping the owners of these companies acquire some of the facilities they occupied as an additional investment channel and a way to better control their company’s facilities costs. Pooling them with some additional small investors, Mr. Lofft built a couple of diversified real estate investment vehicles designed to provide the group with diversified risk through multiple property holdings in different locations. The portfolios have grown to include equity and debt interests in office, light industrial, retail, and multifamily projects in select locations with demonstrated growth in population and demand.
The experience in both tenant representation and asset management has provided Mr. Lofft with an uncommon understanding on both sides of the tenant/landlord relationship which helps him deliver enhanced outcomes for his clients.
